Bill left WROV in 1977 and returned to the Tidewater area for a gig at WGH. He returned to Roanoke in 1980 when K-92 went on the air and was there through the mid-1980s. After K92, Bill went to the Raleigh-Durham NC market to G-105 and a few years later moved to WRAL-FM "Mix 101.5" and is still there today, doing the "Bill & Sheri" morning show with Sheri Logan.
